Arts and crafts have always been a major interest in my life starting with oil paints. I took a few monthly classes under Prof. Wolfarth who was the instigator of community art classes. My profession was nursing including hospital and community health. Following retirement in the 1990’s I again found interest in art trying watercolors and pastels but settled on acrylic painting because of its flexibility.
I’ve tried scenery, still life and floral painting. Portraits have been a major interest but how many faces can one have staring at you? As a fun hobby I look for rocks whose shapes encompass the outline of animals’ heads and painted my way into a wildlife zoo at our home at Vulcan and in Yuma, Arizona.
I have enjoyed membership in the Nanton Art Class, Provincial Art Association and Vulcan Art Society.
